Haddonfield family hosts inner-city child as part of The Fresh Air Fund

The Valleau family of Haddonfield will welcome Haroon into their home on July 29 as part of The Fresh Air Fund. The organization provides inner-city children from low-income neighborhoods with the opportunity to visit a suburban community during the summer. Teachers attend Board of Education meeting to discuss contracts

A select number of Haddonfield teachers attended the July 24 Board of Education meeting to voice their concerns over the contract settlement for the upcoming school year. There has yet to be an agreement over the contracts, which the teachers feel puts them in a difficult place. Board President Glenn Moramarco agreed with the teacher’s claims and felt the negotiations in the next month would go well.

As a Haddonfield resident, I have been researching our borough’s water crisis and attended June’s public meeting. I realize that our water and sewer system is in need of improvements, regardless of whether we sell or maintain ownership. What is at stake is the control of the system. If we sell to American Water, we will lose control and pay substantially more. I applaud our current Commissioners for investing in the infrastructure and for tackling the problem, but am asking them to halt the sale and look into other options.
